복음 (Good news)...

세상에서 가장 기쁜 소식,

가장 위대한 것...

모든 인생에게 가장 복되고 가장 값진 은혜....

 

The best news in the world,

The greatest thing ...

Grace…the most blessed and most precious of all life ....

 

이 엄청난 복음이 언제부터인가 내 안에 교리나 지식정도로 자리 잡았고 십자가의 사랑과 그 감사의 눈물은

어느새 메말라버린 지극히 형식적이고 경건의 모양만 남아있는 제 자신을 보았습니다.

 

I don’t know since when it was that this incredible gospel just became doctrine and knowledge in my head, and I found the tears of love and thanksgiving of the cross had all but disappeared and I was just left with the outward formalities and appearance.

 

"내가 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이 복음은 모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라" (롬1:16)

 

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes…" (Romans 1:16)

 

"복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니.."

바울의 이 고백은 요즘처럼 편안하게 신앙생활을 하는 시기에 쓴 고백이 아닙니다.

그 때의 믿음은 곧 자기 목숨을 건 믿음이었습니다.

그 목숨 건 믿음을 가능케 했던 것이 바로 "십자가의 복음"이었습니다.

어떠한 핍박과 모진 고난과 죽음이라도 그리스도인에게서 복음을 포기케 하지 못했습니다.

 

"I am not ashamed of the gospel."

This confession of Paul was not written during a time like the present times where people are able to have comfortable religious lives.

The faith Paul had at that time was a faith that risked his life.

It was the "gospel of the cross" that made it possible for him to have the faith that he had, a faith that he could risk his life for.

No persecution, suffering, and death were able to make Christians abandon the Gospel.

 

저는 오늘도 제 자신에게 질문합니다.

"솔직히 누가 내 인생의 주인인가?"

다시 복음 앞에 서겠습니다.

주님 만난 그때로 돌아가겠습니다.

주님이면 충분합니다.

복음이면 충분합니다.

교리나 말과 지식이 아니라 삶과 행함으로 복음을 살아내는 제가 되기를 소망합니다.

 

그 위대한 "복음"으로 여러분을 초대합니다.

 

I still question myself today.

"Honestly, who is the master of my life?"

I will stand before the Gospel again.

I will return to the moment in time when I met the Lord.

The Lord is enough.

The Gospel is enough.

I hope that I will live out the gospel by action and not by doctrine, words, or knowledge.
